The She-Dove's Lament and Her Entry into the Fire
After the fowler has gone, the she-dove mourns her husband and recalls the happy days she spent with him, saying that a husband is a woman's one refuge and that she has no wish to live without him. She enters the blazing fire, finds her husband in a heavenly car, and the pair take their joy together in heaven.

Verse 1 (12.147.1)
ततो गते शाकुनिके कपोती प्राह दुःखिता । संस्मृत्य सा च भर्तारं रुदती शोककर्शिता ॥
tato gate śākunike kapotī prāha duḥkhitā | saṃsmṛtya sā ca bhartāraṃ rudatī śokakarśitā
Then, when the fowler had gone, the she-dove, stricken with grief, spoke; she wept as she remembered her husband, wasted with sorrow.
Note on the text: Corrected गतो → गते (misprint in Wikisource; the locative absolute with शाकुनिके needs गते, as in CE 12.144.1 gate śākunike). Line 2 differs from the CE (सा च भर्तारं रुदती शोककर्शिता against bhartāram atho rudatī śokamūrchitā); kept as a variant.

The page prints no speaker heading except Bhishma's at the head of the adhyaya; verses 2-8 are the she-dove's own words, so they are given to her.

Note on the text: The page prints a doubled daṇḍa after line 1 (भूषितम्।।); normalized to a single daṇḍa. Line 2 reads पुण्यकर्मभिः against CE puṇyakīrtibhiḥ (variant). After this verse the CE has a star passage (12.144.11d*0376_01-08, kapoto 'pi ca tāṃ dṛṣṭvā kapotīṃ ca surūpiṇīm …) that Wikisource does not have; not added.
