The Birth of Fever from Rudra's Wrath at Daksha's Sacrifice

Yudhishthira asks how the fever that overcame Vritra came into being. Bhishma tells how Shiva, denied a share in Daksha's horse-sacrifice, destroys the sacrifice in wrath, and a fearful being is born from the sweat of his brow. At Brahma's plea Shiva is promised his share and divides this Fever among all creatures; Bhishma then relates how Vritra, seized by it, was struck down by Indra.
