Vidura Describes the Soul's Journey from the Womb to Death

Dhritarashtra asks how the forest of rebirth is to be understood, and Vidura describes the course of a life: the embryo in the womb, the pain of birth, the diseases and passions that hound a man, and his death at Yama's summons. He then shows how men, drunk with pride of birth and wealth, scorn others, though all lie alike in the cremation ground, and he closes by saying that whoever follows dharma from birth and knows the truth of all this finds the path to liberation.
