The Pandavas' Replies to Uluka
Arjuna, his eyes red with anger, answers Duryodhana's taunts through Uluka: a man who boasts on another's strength is the lowest of men, and he will slay Bhishma first, before all the bowmen, and see Bhima's vows fulfilled. Yudhishthira, Bhima, Nakula, Sahadeva, Virata and Drupada, Shikhandi and Dhrishtadyumna each send their own message — Bhima swearing to drink Duhshasana's blood and break Duryodhana's thighs, Shikhandi and Dhrishtadyumna vowing the deaths of Bhishma and Drona. Uluka reports everything to Duryodhana, who has Karna send messengers through the whole army ordering it to be ready before sunrise.
