Narada Shows Matali the Realm of Varuna
On his way Matali meets the seer Narada, who is going to visit Varuna, and the two travel on together beneath the earth. Honoured by Varuna, they set out through the world of the Nagas, and Narada points out the wonders of Varuna's realm: his sons, among them the lotus-eyed Pushkara, husband of Soma's daughter; the golden house of Varuni; the undying weapons taken from the Daityas; the fire that keeps watch in Varuna's lake; the bow that became Gandiva; and Varuna's parasol, which rains cool water on every side.
