Nakula, Sahadeva and Draupadi Choose Their Disguises

When Arjuna has described his disguise, Yudhishthira asks his other brothers how they will live at King Virata's court. Nakula will serve as master of horse under the name Damagranthi, and Sahadeva as keeper and counter of the cattle under the name Tantripala. Yudhishthira worries how the delicate Draupadi will manage; she answers that she will enter Queen Sudeshna's service as a sairandhri, a maid skilled in dressing hair, guarded by her vow, and Yudhishthira praises her resolve.

Having spoken thus, Arjuna, hero among men and foremost of those who uphold dharma, fell silent; and the king spoke again, now to another of his brothers.

Note on the text: Restored from the critical edition's apparatus (4.2.27d*0063): Wikisource prints two gaps in the second line ("वाक्यं तथासौ .... भूयो नृपोऽपरं भ्रातर...बभाषे"); filled with विरराम and the मा of भ्रातरमाबभाषे. Corrected धर्मामृतां → धर्मभृतां (misprint in Wikisource; the apparatus reads dharmabhṛtāṃ). Not in the critical edition's text (found in the vulgate recension); the critical edition records it in its apparatus as 4.2.27d*0063, where it closes the previous adhyaya.
