śaṁbhuruvāca- atra te kīrtayiṣyāmi kathāṁ pāpapraṇāśinīm śrutvā yāṁ prāpa dharmātmā śivabhaktimanuttamām

Shambhu said: On this I shall relate to you a sin-destroying tale, by hearing which a righteous soul attained unsurpassed devotion to Shiva.

Verse 2 (padma.5.109.2)

न पुराणेतिहासानां श्रुतीनामागमस्य वा । यत्नाद्भोक्ता तथा देहसंस्कारैकप्रवर्तकः

na purāṇetihāsānāṁ śrutīnāmāgamasya vā yatnādbhoktā tathā dehasaṁskāraikapravartakaḥ

Nor of the Puranas, histories, Shrutis, or Agamas; diligent only in eating, and devoted solely to the adornment of his own body.
