शरणागतिपालकः

The guardian of the state of surrender itself, who protects not merely the surrendered person but the quality of surrender that makes divine grace possible

शरणागति की अवस्था के स्वयं रक्षक, जो केवल समर्पित व्यक्ति की नहीं बल्कि समर्पण की उस गुणवत्ता की रक्षा करते हैं जो दिव्य कृपा को सम्भव बनाती है

शरणागति, दिव्य को पूर्ण समर्पण, श्री वैष्णव परम्परा का यामुन के स्तोत्र रत्न और रामानुज के श्री भाष्य में वर्णित उच्चतम मार्ग है। शरणागतिपालक के रूप में अय्यप्पा इस समर्पण की भक्त की क्षमता की रक्षा करते हैं। 'स्वामिये शरणम्' की पुकार समर्पण का प्रारम्भिक कार्य और उस समर्पण का नवीनीकरण दोनों है।
