Shri Ramchandra Kripalu (Shri Ram Stuti)

śrī rāmacandra kṛpālu bhajumana haraṇa bhavabhaya dāruṇaṃ | nava kaṃja locana kaṃja mukha kara kaṃja pada kaṃjāruṇaṃ ||1||

हे मन! कृपालु श्री रामचन्द्र का भजन कर, जो संसार के भयानक भय को हरने वाले हैं — जिनके नेत्र नवीन कमल के समान, मुख कमल, तथा कर और चरण लाल कमल के समान हैं।

O mind, worship the merciful Lord Shri Ramachandra, who removes the terrible fear of worldly existence — whose eyes are like fresh lotuses, whose face is a lotus, and whose hands and feet are red lotuses.

kandarpa agaṇita amita chavi nava nīla nīrada sundaraṃ | paṭapīta mānahu̐ taḍita ruci śuci nomi janaka sutāvaraṃ ||2||

जिनकी छवि अनगिनत कामदेवों से भी अधिक है, जो नवीन नील मेघ के समान सुन्दर हैं; जिनका पीला वस्त्र मानो मेघ पर बिजली की चमक हो। उन पवित्र, जनकनन्दिनी सीता के वर (पति) को मैं नमन करता हूँ।

His beauty surpasses countless gods of love; he is lovely as a fresh blue rain-cloud, his yellow garment gleaming upon it like a flash of lightning. I bow to that pure Lord, the noble husband of Sita, Janaka’s daughter.

bhaju dīnabandhu dineśa dānava daitya vaṃśa nikandanaṃ | raghunanda ānanda kanda kośala canda daśaratha nandanaṃ ||3||

उस दीनबन्धु का भजन कर, जो सूर्य के समान तेजस्वी और दानव-दैत्य वंश के नाशक हैं; जो रघुकुल को आनन्द देने वाले, आनन्द के कन्द (मूल), कोसल के चन्द्रमा और दशरथ के नन्दन हैं।

Worship the friend of the poor and helpless, radiant as the sun, destroyer of the demon and daitya clans; the delight of the Raghus, the root of all bliss, the moon of Kosala, the beloved son of Dasharatha.

śira mukuṭa kuṃḍala tilaka cāru udāru aṅga vibhūṣaṇaṃ | ājānu bhuja śara cāpa dhara saṃgrāma jita kharadūṣaṇaṃ ||4||

जिनके शीश पर मुकुट, कानों में कुण्डल और सुन्दर तिलक है, जिनके उदार अंग आभूषणों से विभूषित हैं; जो आजानुबाहु हैं, धनुष-बाण धारण करते हैं और युद्ध में खर-दूषण को जीतने वाले हैं।

Upon his head a crown, with earrings and a beautiful tilak, his noble limbs adorned with ornaments; long-armed, bearing bow and arrow, victorious in battle over the demons Khara and Dushana.

iti vadati tulasīdāsa śaṃkara śeṣa muni mana raṃjanaṃ | mama hṛdaya kaṃja nivāsa kuru kāmādi khaladala gaṃjanaṃ ||5||

इस प्रकार तुलसीदास कहते हैं: हे शंकर, शेष और मुनियों के मन को आनन्द देने वाले! आप मेरे हृदय-कमल में निवास कीजिए, हे काम आदि दुष्ट-दल के नाशक!

Thus prays Tulsidas: O delighter of the minds of Shankara, Shesha and the sages, come and dwell in the lotus of my heart, O destroyer of the wicked army of lust, anger, and all the vices.

mana jāhi rācyo milahi so vara sahaja sundara sā̃varo | karuṇā nidhāna sujāna śīla sneha jānata rāvaro ||6||

(गौरी सीता को आशीर्वाद देती हैं:) जिसमें तुम्हारा मन रच-बस गया है, वही वर तुम्हें मिले — सहज ही सुन्दर और साँवला; जो करुणा का निधान, सुजान, शीलवान और तुम्हारे स्नेह को जानने वाला है।

(Gauri blesses Sita:) May you attain the very bridegroom in whom your heart is absorbed — naturally beautiful and dark-hued; an ocean of compassion, wise and of noble character, who knows and returns your love.

ehi bhā̃ti gaurī asīsa suna siya sahita hiya haraṣita alī | tulasī bhavānihi pūji puni-puni mudita mana mandira calī ||7||

इस प्रकार गौरी का आशीर्वाद सुनकर सीता अपनी सखियों सहित हृदय में हर्षित हुईं। तुलसीदास कहते हैं: भवानी (गौरी) की बार-बार पूजा कर, प्रसन्न मन से वे अपने महल को चलीं।

Hearing Gauri’s blessing thus, Sita and her companions were filled with joy at heart. Tulsidas says: having worshipped Bhavani (Gauri) again and again, with a glad mind she returned to her palace.

||soraṭhā|| jānī gaurī anukūla siya hiya haraṣu na jāi kahi | mañjula maṅgala mūla vāma aṅga pharakana lage ||

गौरी को अनुकूल जानकर सीता के हृदय का हर्ष कहा नहीं जा सकता। मंगल के मूल-स्वरूप उनके वाम (बाएँ) अंग फड़कने लगे — जो शुभ शकुन है।

Knowing Gauri to be favourable, the joy in Sita’s heart was beyond words. Her left limbs — the very root of lovely auspiciousness — began to throb, an auspicious omen.
