Shri Ramchandra Kripalu Bhajman

Śrī Rāmacandra kṛpālu bhajamana haraṇa bhavabhaya dāruṇam. Nava kaṃja locana kaṃja mukha kara kaṃja pada kaṃjāruṇam. Kandarppa agaṇita amita chavi nava nīla nīraja sundaram. Paṭa pīta mānahum taṛita ruci śuci naumi janaka sutāvaram.॥1॥

हे मन, उस कृपालु श्री रामचन्द्र का भजन कर जो संसार के भयंकर भय को हरने वाले हैं। उनके नेत्र, मुख, हाथ और चरण कमल के समान सुंदर और लाल हैं। उनकी छवि अनगिनत कामदेवों से भी अधिक मनोहर है और पीले वस्त्र में वे बिजली की तरह चमकते हैं — मैं जनक की पुत्री सीता के उस पवित्र पति को प्रणाम करता हूँ।

O mind, worship the merciful Lord Ramachandra, who destroys the terrible fear of worldly existence. His eyes are like fresh lotuses, his face is a lotus, his hands are lotus-like, and his feet glow with a reddish-lotus hue. His beauty surpasses countless gods of love; he is as radiant as the fresh blue lotus, adorned in yellow silk gleaming like lightning — I bow to him, the pure and noble husband of Janaka's daughter.

Bhaju dīnabandhu dineśa dānava daitya vaṃśa nikanadanam. Raghunanda ānandakanda kosala canda daśaratha nandanam. Śira mukuṭa kuṇḍala tilaka cāru udāra aṅga vibhūṣaṇam. Ājānubhuja śara cāpa dhara saṃgrāma jita khara dūṣaṇam.॥2॥

उस दीनबन्धु, सूर्य के समान तेजस्वी, दानवों और दैत्यों के वंश का नाश करने वाले प्रभु का भजन करो। वे रघुवंश के आनन्द, आनन्द के मूल, कोसल देश के चंद्रमा और दशरथ के लाडले पुत्र हैं। उनके सिर पर मुकुट, कानों में कुंडल, माथे पर तिलक और उनका सुंदर विशाल शरीर दिव्य आभूषणों से सुशोभित है — वे जानुभुज, धनुष-बाण धारण किए, युद्ध में खर-दूषण को जीतने वाले हैं।

Worship him — the friend of the destitute, radiant as the sun, the destroyer of the race of demons and asuras. He is the delight of the Raghu dynasty, the very root of bliss, the moon of the Kosala kingdom, the beloved son of Dasharath. His head is adorned with a crown, his ears with earrings, his forehead with the tilak — his noble form is decorated with divine ornaments. His long arms reach to his knees, he holds the bow and arrow, and in battle he vanquished the terrible demons Khar and Dushan.

Iti vadati Tulasīdāsa śaṃkara śeṣa muni manaraṃjanam. Mama hṛdaya kaṃja nivāsa kuru kāmādi khala dala gaṃjanam. Manu jāhiṃ rāceu milihi so baru sahaja sundara sāṃvaro. Karuṇā nidhāna sujāna śīla sneha jānata rāvaro.॥3॥

इस प्रकार तुलसीदास कहते हैं — हे प्रभु, जो शंकर, शेष और मुनियों के मन को प्रसन्न करते हैं, कृपया मेरे हृदय कमल में निवास करें और काम, क्रोध, लोभ आदि दुष्ट शत्रुओं का नाश करें। जिस सुंदर साँवले वर की मन से कामना है, वह अवश्य मिलेगा — क्योंकि हे करुणा के सागर, हे सर्वज्ञ, आप ही मेरे मन के प्रेम और भाव को जानते हैं।

Thus prays Tulsidas: O Lord, who is the delight of Shiva, Shesha, and all the sages — please make your dwelling in the lotus of my heart and destroy the wicked forces of lust, anger, and greed that reside there. The spouse for whom the mind yearns will surely be found — that naturally beautiful dark-complexioned one. O ocean of compassion, O all-knowing one, you understand the love and devotion that is in my heart.

Ehi bhāṃti Gaurī asīsa suni siya sahita hiya haraṣīṃ alī. Tulasī Bhavānahi pūji puni puni mudita mana mandira calī. Jānī Gaurī anukūla siya hiya haraṣa na jāi kahi. Maṃjula maṃgala mūla bāma aṃga pharakana lage.॥4॥

इस प्रकार देवी गौरी के आशीर्वाद को सुनकर सीता और उनकी सखियाँ मन से बहुत प्रसन्न हुईं। तुलसीदास कहते हैं कि सीता ने बार-बार भवानी की पूजा की और प्रसन्न मन से मंदिर से घर की ओर चलीं। यह जानकर कि देवी गौरी उन पर अनुकूल हैं, सीता के मन का हर्ष अवर्णनीय था — और शुभ संकेत स्वरूप उनके वाम अंग फड़कने लगे।

Hearing the blessings of Goddess Gauri in this way, Sita and her companions rejoiced in their hearts. Tulsidas says she worshipped Bhavani again and again, and with a joyful heart walked toward home. Knowing that Goddess Gauri was favorable to her, the joy in Sita's heart was beyond words — and auspicious omens appeared as the left limbs of her body, the root of all beauty and good fortune, began to throb.
