जिनके मस्तक पर चन्द्रमा की रेखा (अर्धचन्द्र) सुशोभित है - जिनकी कृपा चन्द्रमा की तरह शीतल और प्रकाशमान है

पूर्णिमा की रात तुलसी के पास दीया जलाना और चन्द्रमा को जल चढ़ाना - यह परम्परा देवी के चन्द्र-स्वरूप का ही अनुष्ठान है। बोर्ड परीक्षा से पहले घबराए हुए विद्यार्थी जब 'चन्द्रलेखा' नाम का जाप करते हैं, तो वे उस शीतल प्रकाश को मन में भरते हैं। यह नाम उस समय के लिए है जब सब कुछ थोड़ा शान्त होना चाहिए।
