शरद पूर्णिमा पर उत्तर भारत में परिवार खुले आसमान के नीचे खीर रखते हैं ताकि चाँदनी उस पर पड़े। वैज्ञानिक उसी चाँदनी को मापते हैं; भक्त उसे चन्द्रिका का स्पर्श अनुभव करते हैं। चाँदनी में बैठना, शांत होना, रात को सुन्दर देखना - यह भारत की सबसे पुरानी स्वास्थ्य परम्पराओं में से एक है।
