वसुप्रदः

Bestower of wealth and all good things, the generous giver of vasu (the precious, the excellent, the life-sustaining) to those who seek his grace

धन और सभी शुभ वस्तुओं के दाता, उन सभी को वसु (बहुमूल्य, उत्कृष्ट, जीवन-पोषक) के उदार देने वाले जो उनकी कृपा के साधक हैं

वसुप्रद (वसु के दाता) शिव को महान धन-दाता की भूमिका देता है। संस्कृत शब्द वसु का अर्थ एक साथ 'धन, श्रेष्ठ, अच्छा, जीवन-पोषक' है: यह केवल भौतिक धन नहीं है। वैदिक ब्रह्माण्डविज्ञान के अष्ट वसु जीवन-पोषक ब्रह्माण्डीय सिद्धांत हैं; शिव वसुप्रद के रूप में सभी आठ के दाता हैं। बेंगलुरु या चेन्नई से कंपनी बनाने की कोशिश करने वाला आधुनिक उद्यमी भी इस धार्मिक आयाम से अलग नहीं है।
