A Brahmin Guest Tells of Draupadi's Svayamvara

Janamejaya asks what the Pandavas did after killing Baka. Vaishampayana tells how, while they lived on in the brahmin's house studying the Veda, a wandering brahmin came to stay and told them of lands, tirthas and the wonders of kings, and at last of the svayamvara of Yajnasena's daughter among the Panchalas and the miraculous births of Dhrishtadyumna, Shikhandi and Krishna. The Pandavas ask him how these things came about and how Drona and Drupada fell out, and he begins the story.
