Yudhishthira's Resolve and Krishna's Visit
Bhima and Arjuna present Draupadi to Kunti as "alms", and Kunti, without looking, tells them to share it among them all. Troubled, she asks Yudhishthira how her word can stand without wrong; Yudhishthira offers Draupadi to Arjuna, but Arjuna insists the elder brothers marry first, and Yudhishthira, seeing all his brothers taken with her and recalling Vyasa's words, declares that she will be the wife of all five. Answering Janamejaya, Vaishampayana explains that Krishna left the bow untouched in order to draw out the Pandavas; Krishna and Balarama then visit them in the potter's house and return to their camp.
