The Names of the Serpents

Shaunaka notes that Sauti has told of the curses, the boons and the names of Vinata's two sons, and asks for the names of the serpents as well. Sauti replies that they are too many to list in full and names the chief ones, beginning with Shesha, Vasuki, Airavata and Takshaka. He ends by saying that their offspring and descendants run to thousands, millions and beyond, and cannot be counted.
