Gautama and Indra: The Worlds Beyond, and the Elephant Won Back
Yudhishthira asks whether there is one world for the righteous or many. Bhishma answers that men go to different worlds by their deeds, and tells how Indra, in the form of Dhritarashtra, took away the elephant that the Brahmin Gautama had raised. Gautama names one realm after another where he will claim the elephant; each time the disguised Indra names the people who dwell there and says he is not among them. When Gautama names the place where Indra himself comes to drink Soma, he recognises who he is dealing with. Indra, pleased, returns the elephant and takes Gautama with it to heaven.

eko lokastu kṛtināṃ svarge loke pitāmaha | uta tatrāpi nānātvaṃ sarvaṃ brūhi pitāmaha
Grandfather, is there a single world for the meritorious in the world of heaven? Or is there diversity even there? Tell me everything, Grandfather.
Note on the text: The alignment found no match; the couplet is CE 13.105.1 (eko lokaḥ sukṛtināṃ sarve tv āho pitāmaha / uta tatrāpi nānātvaṃ tan me brūhi pitāmaha), with स्वर्गे लोके for 'sarve tv āho' and सर्वं for 'tan me'. Recension variant, kept. The page is a poem-only page; its verse numbering 1-63 agrees with the input.

Note on the text: Line 1 reads प्रपन्नं महादीर्घं प्रभूतं सर्वतोमदम् against CE 13.105.6a 'prabhinnaṃ mahānāgaṃ prasrutaṃ sarvato madam', and line 2 धृतराष्ट्रस्वरूपेण against 'dhṛtarāṣṭrasya rūpeṇa'; recension variants, kept.
