Vayu on Sesame Offerings and Atonement
Vayu declares a dharma that brings men happiness: the fire-rite, a meal of the best food, and a lamp with sesame-water for the ancestors through the four months of the rains. He then names a fault, a low-caste man leading the sacred fire while women are bewildered about the oblation, which angers the fires, the ancestors and the gods, and gives the atonement: three days of the fire-rite with the products of the cow, fasting.
