Agastya Drinks the Ocean and the Kaleyas Are Slain
Before the assembled gods and seers Agastya drinks up the whole ocean for the good of the worlds, and the gods, praising him, fall on the exposed danavas. The Kaleyas fight fiercely for a while but are slain, and a few survivors split the earth and flee to the underworld. When the gods ask Agastya to pour the water back, he tells them he has digested it and they must find another way; dismayed, they go with Vishnu to Brahma to ask how the ocean may be refilled.
