The Return of the Krita Age and Markandeya's Counsel to Yudhishthira

Markandeya completes his prophecy: Kalki, having destroyed the robbers, gives the earth to the brahmins in a horse sacrifice, sets the bounds of dharma in place and roams the earth slaying wrongdoers, and the Krita age returns with sacrifices, plentiful crops and every class at its own duty. Closing his account of the ages, drawn from the Purana proclaimed by Vayu, he counsels Yudhishthira to hold to dharma, never to slight a brahmin, to protect his subjects like his own children and not to be troubled by the workings of time. Yudhishthira promises to obey, and the Pandavas, Krishna and the brahmins present rejoice and marvel at the ancient tale.
