The Marvels of Bahuka

Damayanti sends Keshini back to watch Bahuka in silence. Keshini reports marvels: doorways rise for him, pitchers fill at his glance, fire springs from a handful of grass, flame does not burn him and crushed flowers grow fresher in his hands. Tasting meat he has cooked, Damayanti recognizes Nala's cooking and sends their two children to him; Bahuka embraces them and weeps, then explains to Keshini that they resemble his own children and sends her away lest people talk.
