Pulastya on the Sacred Fords: Gangadvara, Naimisha, Varanasi and Gaya
Pulastya continues his account of the sacred fords for Bhishma, naming the merit each one gives. He moves from Dharmatirtha and the seat of Shakambhari, the goddess who fed visiting sages on vegetables, to Gangadvara, Kanakhala and the sources of the Yamuna and the Sindhu, and praises Naimisha, where all the fords of the earth are present, Gopratara on the Sarayu, where Rama went to heaven, and Varanasi with Avimukta. He then describes Gaya with its imperishable banyan, the cow's footprints at Dhenuka and the hill of Udyanta, and carries the list east through Rajagriha, Gautama's forest, the Gandaki, Shalagrama, the Kaushiki and many lesser fords.

Verse 1 (3.82.1)
tato gacchenmahārāja dharmatīrthamanuttamam | yatra dharmo mahābhāgastaptavānuttamaṃ tapaḥ | tena tīrthaṃ kṛtaṃ puṇyaṃ svena nāmnā ca viśrutam
Then, great king, one should go to Dharmatirtha, the unsurpassed ford, where the illustrious Dharma practised supreme austerity. He made that holy ford, and it is famed by his own name.
Note on the text: Removed Wikisource's square brackets (and the ।। inside them) around lines 2–3, and restored a word space Line 1 corresponds to 3.82.1a (the critical edition reads gaccheta dharmajña … purātanam); lines 2–3 are not in the critical edition's constituted text but appear in its apparatus as 3.82.1b*0405 (ending cihnitam for विश्रुतम्).
Verse 2 (3.82.2)
tatra snātvā naro rājandharmaśīlaḥ samāhitaḥ | āsaptamaṃ kulaṃ caiva punīte nātra saṃśayaḥ
A man who bathes there, O king, righteous in conduct and composed in mind, purifies his family to the seventh generation; of this there is no doubt.
Note on the text: Restored a word space Corrected धर्मशील → धर्मशीलः (misprint in Wikisource; dropped visarga, the adjective qualifies नरः; the critical edition reads dharmaśīlaḥ). Corresponds to 3.82.1c–f, which the automatic alignment missed.
Verse 3 (3.82.3)
tato gaccheta rājendra jñānapāvanamuttamam | agniṣṭomamavāpnoti munilokaṃ ca gacchati
Then, king of kings, one should go to the excellent Jnanapavana. There one gains the fruit of the Agnishtoma sacrifice and goes to the world of the sages.
Note on the text: Wikisource's ज्ञानपावनम् is kept as a recension variant (the critical edition reads kārāpatanam).

the Siddhas, Charanas, Gandharvas, Kinnaras and great serpents abide. The moment one enters that forest one is freed from all sins.
Note on the text: Corrected कतद्वनं → तद्वनं (misprint in Wikisource; a stray क, likely a footnote mark, makes the pada a syllable long; the critical edition reads tad vanaṃ).
Verse 6 (3.82.6)
tataścāpi saricchreṣṭhā nadīnāmuttamā nadī | plakṣā devī smṛtā rājanpuṇyā devī sarasvatī
And there is the best of streams, the foremost of rivers: the holy goddess Sarasvati, O king, who is remembered as the goddess Plaksha.
Note on the text: Corrected सरिचच्छ्रेष्ठा → सरिच्छ्रेष्ठा (misprint in Wikisource; a doubled च; the critical edition reads saricchreṣṭhā). पुण्या देवी is kept as a recension variant (the critical edition reads plakṣād devī srutā … mahāpuṇyā, 'flowing from the Plaksha tree').

There one should bathe in the water that issues from an anthill; having worshipped the ancestors and the gods, one gains the fruit of a horse sacrifice.

There is a ford there, very hard to reach, called Kaveradhyushita; it lies, it is held for certain, six casts of the shamya peg from the anthill.
Note on the text: Corrected पट्सु → षट्सु (misprint in Wikisource; प for ष; the critical edition reads ṣaṭsu). Wikisource's कवेराध्युषितं ('dwelt in by Kavera') is kept; the critical edition reads īśānādhyuṣitaṃ ('dwelt in by Ishana').

Then one should go to the ford called Suvarna, renowned in the three worlds, where Vishnu long ago worshipped Rudra to win his favour.
Note on the text: Corrected रुद्रकमाराधयत् → रुद्रमाराधयत् (misprint in Wikisource; a stray क makes the pada a syllable long; the critical edition reads rudram ārādhayat). Wikisource's सुवर्णाख्यं is kept (the critical edition reads suvarṇākṣaṃ).
Verse 18 (3.82.18)
