Kunti Explains Why She Roused Her Sons

Kunti tells her sons that she urged them to action, through Vidula's words, to raise them up when they had lost their kingdom, so that Pandu's line and their fame should not perish and each of them, and Draupadi, should be spared further suffering. She recalls Draupadi's dishonour in the assembly. She says she did not do it for her own gain; she has had her share of royal fortune, and now wants only the worlds of her husband, won through austerity and the service of her parents-in-law, and asks Yudhishthira to turn back and set his mind on dharma.
