The Pandavas Take Leave and Return to Hastinapura

Janamejaya asks what Dhritarashtra and Yudhishthira did after seeing their dead again. Vyasa tells Dhritarashtra to send Yudhishthira home, and the old king urges him to go; Yudhishthira and then Sahadeva plead to stay in the forest, but Gandhari and Kunti insist they leave. The Pandavas take leave of the elders, circle Dhritarashtra, and return with their wives to Hastinapura.
