Narada Reports the Death of Dhritarashtra

Narada comes to Yudhishthira and, asked about Dhritarashtra, tells how the blind king, with Gandhari and Kunti, practised severe austerity at Gangadvara and was burned in a forest fire, sitting in yoga and refusing to flee, while Sanjaya escaped and went to the Himalaya. The Pandavas, the women of the palace and the townspeople break into lament, and Yudhishthira at last restrains his tears to speak.
