Krishna Teaches the Fruits of Gifts and Vows

Yudhishthira, not yet satisfied, asks Krishna the fruit of giving a bull and of gifts not yet described. Krishna lists the heavenly rewards of giving bulls, houses, beds, learning, seats, vehicles, a flowering tree, lamps, water, shoes and umbrellas, foods, and of honouring Brahmins, setting up his image, keeping a sacred fire, and of fasts and the great departure. He ends by warning that promised gifts withheld or gifts taken back are lost, and that gifts to learned Brahmins alone bear fruit.
