Brahma Describes Rajas, the Quality of Passion
Brahma turns from tamas to rajas and lists its marks: toil, pride, strife, buying and selling, praise and blame, sacrifice and gifts made for personal gain, attachment, gambling, and delight in song and dance. Men wrapped in rajas pursue dharma, wealth and desire, rejoice in this world, are born again and again, and seek their good in this world and the next. One who knows these qualities is freed from them.
