Funeral Rites for Abhimanyu; Vyasa Urges the Horse Sacrifice
Vasudeva and Krishna perform the funeral rites for Abhimanyu and feed and enrich great numbers of brahmins, while the Pandavas and Uttara remain sunk in grief. Vyasa arrives and tells Kunti, Uttara and Arjuna that a great son will be born to Uttara and will rule the earth, so that they should give up mourning. He then urges Yudhishthira to undertake the horse sacrifice and vanishes, and Yudhishthira resolves to go and fetch the wealth for it.
