Bhima Prepares the Sacrificial Ground and the Kings Assemble
Yudhishthira hears that the horse is returning with Arjuna safe. On the twelfth of Magha he tells Bhima to send learned Brahmins to choose a site, since the Chaitra full moon is a month away. Bhima has a splendid sacrificial ground built with halls, gold pillars and gateways, and lodgings for the kings and Brahmins, and sends messengers to the kings. They arrive with gifts, and Yudhishthira receives and provisions them. When the sacrifice begins, the kings marvel at the golden vessels, the animals and the mountains of food, and a great multitude is fed.
