Satyaki Kills Bhurishravas
As Bhurishravas is about to strike Satyaki, Arjuna's arrow cuts off his sword-arm. Bhurishravas reproaches Arjuna for striking a man whose mind was elsewhere; Arjuna answers that he was shielding Satyaki, defends his friendship with Krishna and recalls the killing of Abhimanyu. Bhurishravas sits down to fast unto death, and Arjuna and Krishna send him on to the worlds of the righteous. Satyaki then rises and cuts off his head, despite the protests of the whole army, and defends the act against the reproaches of the Kauravas.

sa bāhurnyapatadbhūmau sakhaḍgaḥ saśubhāṅgadaḥ | ādadhajjīvalokasya duḥkhamadbhutamuttamaḥ | yantramukto mahendrasya dhvajo vṛttotsavo yathā
The arm fell to the ground, sword and bright armlet together, that finest of arms, bringing the world of the living a strange and bitter grief, like the banner of Mahendra loosed from its machine when the festival is over.
Note on the text: Corrected सखङ्गः → सखड्गः (misprint in Wikisource; CE khaḍga). Stray wiki quote marks removed. The arm of the man who was about to strike was cut off by the unseen Kiritin, and it fell to the ground with a rush, like a five-hooded serpent.
Note on the text: Corrected बाहुरदृश्यते → बाहुरदृश्येन (misprint in Wikisource; अदृश्यते is not a valid form here; CE 7.118.2a reads adṛśyena kirīṭinā). Second line is CE 7.118.2c with a recension variant (न्यपतद् for the CE's अभ्यपतद्).
