Duryodhana Sets the Guard around Drona
With the field lit, the two armies close again. Dhritarashtra asks who guarded Drona when Arjuna broke in and how Drona came to die, and complains that Sanjaya speaks only of his own side's losses. Sanjaya answers that Duryodhana set Karna, Shalya, Kritavarman and the surviving Trigartas to guard Drona's rear, wheels and front, argued that Drona was the key to victory over the Pandavas, and so the night battle raged again, as none had seen before.
