Ashvatthama's Vow; Bhima Routs the Elephants
Duryodhana urges Karna, Shalya and the other warriors to fight, and the Kaurava host roars in answer. Ashvatthama vows not to put off his armour until he has killed Dhrishtadyumna, and the two armies charge. The gods and apsarases gather to watch. Duryodhana, Duhshasana and others attack Bhima with a mass of elephants, and Bhima turns on the elephants and cuts them down in great numbers.
