Bhimasena Strikes Karna Senseless

The Kaurava army, still fleeing, is rallied against Bhimasena. Karna drives toward him, and Bhima, leaving Yudhishthira in the care of Satyaki and Dhrishtadyumna, vows to kill Karna or die. Shalya warns Karna of Bhima's fury, and Karna answers that he longs only to meet Arjuna. The two fight a fierce duel of arrows until Bhima's arrow tears through Karna, who sinks senseless on his chariot, and Shalya carries him from the field while Bhima routs the Kaurava host.
