Karna Holds Off the Pandavas; Ashvatthama Confronts Dhrishtadyumna
Dhritarashtra asks what Arjuna did after the Pandya king fell. Sanjaya reports that Krishna points out the Pandava army in retreat, Karna rallying the Kauravas and Ashvatthama's slaughter of the Srinjayas, and Arjuna bids him drive on. Dhrishtadyumna and the Pandavas charge Karna, who stands alone against them and trades arrows with Dhrishtadyumna. Ashvatthama then bears down on Dhrishtadyumna and swears to send him to Yama for killing his father.
