The Sea Takes Dvaraka and Arjuna's Weapons Fail

Arjuna consoles Vasudeva, tells the people of Dvaraka to be ready in seven days to leave for Indraprastha under Vajra, and next morning Vasudeva departs this life; Arjuna cremates him with four of his wives and performs the rites for the slain Vrishnis and for Rama and Krishna. As the host sets out, the sea floods Dvaraka. At Panchanada, Abhira robbers attack; Gandiva and Arjuna's weapons fail him and the robbers carry off many women. Arjuna settles the survivors in various cities, installs Vajra at Indraprastha, sees Krishna's queens enter the fire or the forest, and, grief-stricken, goes to Vyasa's hermitage.
