Duties Assigned at the Rajasuya
Yudhishthira greets Bhishma, Drona and the other Kuru elders and asks them to take charge of his sacrifice and his wealth. He gives each a task: Yuyutsu the serving of meals, Duhshasana the provisions, Ashvatthaman the reception of brahmins, Sanjaya the honouring of kings, Bhishma and Drona the oversight of the work, Kripa the treasure and the fees, Vidura the expenditure and Duryodhana the receiving of gifts, while Krishna himself washes the brahmins' feet. The kings vie with one another to enrich Yudhishthira, and the Rajasuya, rich in fees and food, satisfies the gods, the brahmins and people of every class.
