The Kings Gather for the Rajasuya

Invited and honoured, kings set out from every quarter for Yudhishthira's sacrifice, bringing precious jewels and eager to see the assembly hall. Nakula goes to Hastinapura and brings back Bhishma, Dhritarashtra, Vidura and Duryodhana with all his brothers. A long roll of guests follows — the Kuru elders and princes, Karna, Shalya, Drupada, Bhagadatta, kings of the east, south and the mountains, Virata, Shishupala and the Vrishni heroes — and each is lodged in a splendid white mansion. Rested, they behold Yudhishthira amid his assembly, which shines like heaven with its gods.
