The Assembly Hall of Yama
Narada describes the hall of Yama, built by Vishvakarman after long austerities: radiant as the sun, a hundred yojanas in extent, neither too hot nor too cold, free from grief, old age, hunger and thirst, and stocked with every kind of food and pleasure. A long roll of royal sages attends Yama there, from Yayati, Nahusha and Rama son of Dasharatha to Shantanu and Pandu, together with whole hundreds of kings of the same name, Agastya, the classes of ancestors, Time, Death and Yama's servants. Those of fierce austerity and truthful speech reach it, and Narada turns next to the hall of Varuna.
