Bhima Tramples Duryodhana's Head; Yudhishthira's Lament

With Duryodhana fallen, the Pandavas and Somakas rejoice, and Bhimasena taunts him, recalls the insults to Draupadi, and sets his left foot on the king's head. Yudhishthira rebukes him for striking a fallen king and kinsman, then goes to Duryodhana in tears and says that the fault was his own, that the Pandavas are now the ones to be pitied, and that he dreads facing the widows of the house.

taṃ pātitaṃ tato dṛṣṭvā mahāsālamivodgatam | prahṛṣṭamanasaḥ sarve babhūvustatra pāṇḍavāḥ

Then Bhimasena, the mighty, having struck down Duryodhana, went up to that lord of the Kauravas as he lay fallen and said this.
