Balarama's Wrath at the Blow Below the Navel

At Dhritarashtra's question, Sanjaya tells how Balarama, enraged that Bhima struck Duryodhana below the navel, raised his plough and rushed at him until Krishna held him back, reminding him of Bhima's vow and of Maitreya's curse. Balarama, unpersuaded, calls the deed a crooked victory and leaves for Dvaraka. Krishna then asks Yudhishthira why he allows the trampling of Duryodhana's head, Yudhishthira explains himself, and Bhima, rejoicing, presents the earth to him.
