Sanatkumara Teaches Vritra the Greatness of Vishnu
While Ushanas and Vritra talk, the sage Sanatkumara arrives and, at Ushanas's request, tells Vritra of Vishnu's greatness. The world rests in Vishnu, who is reached by restraint of the senses and by purification over many births. Sanatkumara describes the six colours of souls, from black to white, and how a soul climbs from the lowest to the highest through countless dissolutions and emissions. Vritra, content, gives up his life and reaches the highest abode. Yudhishthira then asks about the colours and the course of the Pandavas, and Bhishma assures them they will go to the worlds of the gods, be born as men again and finally reach the perfected.
