The Brahmin Waits on the Gomati for the Absent Serpent
Travelling through forests, holy places and lakes, the Brahmin learns from a sage where the serpent lives and reaches his house. Padmanabha's devoted wife welcomes him, and the Brahmin asks to see her lord. She tells him that the serpent is away carrying the sun's chariot for his month and will return in seven or eight days. The Brahmin leaves a message and goes to wait on the bank of the Gomati, living on a measured diet.
