Padmanabha Meets the Brahmin
Padmanabha goes to the Brahmin and greets him gently, asking whom he has come to see. The Brahmin says he has come from Dharmaranya to see the serpent Padmanabha and is reciting the Veda for his welfare while he waits. Padmanabha reveals himself and offers to do whatever the Brahmin wishes. The Brahmin praises the serpent's qualities, says he has a doubt that wants cutting through, and promises to state his errand afterwards.
