Divodasa and the Birth of Pratardana
Galava takes Madhavi to Divodasa, the righteous king of Kashi, who has already heard of the bargain and gladly agrees to beget one son for two hundred horses. Narada describes the king's delight in Madhavi through a long list of famous divine and royal couples. Madhavi bears Pratardana, and at the agreed time Divodasa returns her to Galava, leaving the horses in his keeping.
