Krishna Foretells the Pandavas' Victory

Krishna smiles at Karna's refusal of the kingdom and declares the Pandavas' victory certain, pointing to Arjuna's towering, divinely wrought monkey banner. In a refrain he tells Karna that when he sees Arjuna, Yudhishthira, Bhima, the twins and the Kaurava leaders held back by Arjuna in battle, there will be no Krita, Treta or Dvapara age left. He then gives Karna a message for Bhishma, Drona, Kripa and the kings: the season is mild and well supplied, the new moon falls in seven days, and the battle should begin then, when those who fall by weapons will win the highest state.
