Dhritarashtra Plans Krishna's Welcome
Hearing that Krishna has come from Upaplavya and is staying at Vrikasthala, Dhritarashtra tells Vidura how he means to honour him: with golden chariots, elephants, servants, woollen blankets, deerskins, a radiant jewel, a mule-drawn carriage and food in abundance. He orders that his sons and grandsons, all but Duryodhana, and the city's leading courtesans go out to meet Krishna, that the city be decked with banners and its roads watered, and that Duhshasana's mansion be made ready for him with every treasure he deserves.
