Krishna Enters Hastinapura

At dawn Krishna leaves Vrikasthala for the Kuru capital. Dhritarashtra's sons, all but Duryodhana, go out with Bhishma, Drona and Kripa to meet him, and the whole city throngs the decorated royal road to see him. He enters Dhritarashtra's palace, where the king and the elders rise to greet him, receives the guest-offerings and talks easily with the Kurus, then takes his leave and goes to Vidura's house. Vidura welcomes him and asks after the Pandavas, and Krishna tells him all that they have been doing.

Note on the text: Removed Wikisource's interpolation marks (` … ') around this verse and the doubled closing danda. Not in the critical edition (found in the vulgate recension); its closest counterpart is the star passage 5.87.2d*0394 (after 5.87.2), whose last line ends with the same words (nābhyanandan mahābāhur upāyāt kurusaṃsadam), but neither line of this verse is found there as such.
