Krishna Enters the Kuru Assembly

After a night spent listening to Vidura, Krishna performs his morning rites and is summoned by Duryodhana and Shakuni to the assembly where Dhritarashtra, Bhishma and the kings are waiting. He drives through the crowded streets of Hastinapura in his Garuda-bannered chariot, with Vidura beside him and a great retinue around, and enters the hall, where all rise to honour him. Seeing Narada and other seers in the sky, he asks Bhishma to seat and honour them first; then all take their places, and the hall falls silent, gazing at Krishna.
