tapaste varddhatāṁ bhūyaḥ pitṛbhaktyā viśeṣataḥ yacca roṣābhibhūtena kṣatramutsāditaṁ tvayā

'May your austerity increase further, especially through devotion to your ancestors; and as for the kshatriya race destroyed by you, in the grip of wrath,

Verse 34 (padma.3.26.34)

'Whoever bathes in these lakes and offers tarpana to the ancestors, the ancestors, pleased with him, shall grant him, on earth, that which is hard to obtain —

Verse 36 (padma.3.26.36)

'the desired wish of his heart, and the everlasting heavenly world too.' Having thus granted this boon, O king, Rama's ancestors then, having taken leave of the Bhargava, pleased, vanished there.
