Having said this, fitting an arrow to his bow, drawn back to his ear, he loosed sharp arrows, takers of the enemy's life.
Verse 29 (padma.5.24.29)
ते बाणास्त्वाविलीभूताश्छादयामासुरंबरम् । सूर्यभानुप्रभा यत्र बाणच्छायानिवारिता
te bāṇāstvāvilībhūtāśchādayāmāsuraṁbaram sūryabhānuprabhā yatra bāṇacchāyānivāritā
Those arrows, becoming a turbid mass, covered the sky; there, the radiance of the sun itself was blocked by the shadow of the arrows.

tadātikopatāmrākṣaḥ puṣkalo bharatātmajaḥ vāyavyāstraṁ samādhatta dhanuṣyekaṁ mahāśaram
Pushkala, son of Bharata, his eyes red with fury, fitted to his bow the wind-weapon, one great arrow.
Verse 48 (padma.5.24.48)

narāḥ prabhaṁjanoddhūtā muktakeśā nirojasaḥ pataṁto'tra samīkṣyaṁte vetālā iva bhūgatāḥ
Men, tossed up by the storm, their hair loosened, their strength gone, were seen falling there like ghosts fallen to the ground.
Verse 51 (padma.5.24.51)
वायुना स्वबलं सर्वं परिभूतं विलोक्य सः । राजपुत्रः पर्वतास्त्रं धनुष्येवं समादधे
vāyunā svabalaṁ sarvaṁ paribhūtaṁ vilokya saḥ rājaputraḥ parvatāstraṁ dhanuṣyevaṁ samādadhe
Seeing his entire army overwhelmed by the wind, that prince fitted to his bow the mountain-weapon.
Verse 52 (padma.5.24.52)
तदा तु पर्वताः पेतुर्मस्तकोपरि युध्यताम् । वायुः संच्छादितस्तैस्तु न प्रचक्राम कुत्रचित्
tadā tu parvatāḥ peturmastakopari yudhyatām vāyuḥ saṁcchāditastaistu na pracakrāma kutracit
Then mountains fell upon the heads of the combatants; the wind, covered over by them, could no longer move anywhere.

puṣkalo vajrasaṁjñaṁ tu samādhatta śarāsane vajreṇa kṛttāste sarve jātāśca tilaśaḥ kṣaṇāt
Pushkala fitted to his bow the weapon called Vajra; by the Vajra all those mountains were cut, and in an instant reduced to fragments like sesame seeds.
Verse 54 (padma.5.24.54)
वज्रं नगान्रजः शेषान्कृत्वा बाणाभिमंत्रितम् । राजपुत्रोरसि प्रोच्चैः पपात स्वनवद्भृशम्

Shatrughna, seeing Pushkala victorious, was filled with joy; surrounded by his ministers, Sumati and the rest, he praised him.
